Wellness Hotel Guide

About & methodology

A more informed way to discover wellness travel

Wellness Hotel Guide helps you understand what hotels and resorts offer, compare the experiences that matter to you, and discover places to explore for your next trip. Wellness can mean a quiet few days, an active escape, food-focused experiences, or a stay built around a dedicated program.

What makes a wellness stay different?

Look beyond the amenity list. A spa visit, guided hikes, cooking classes, and a residential wellness program offer different ways to spend your time. The guide brings those details together so you can consider a place for the experience it offers, across a range of hotel types and budgets.

Three organizations, three roles

Wellness Hotel Guide

A consumer guide to wellness hotels and resorts. Property descriptions, wellness interests, destination guides, and comparison tools help you explore the differences between stays.

What does WITT Certified mean?

WITT (Wellness in Travel & Tourism) evaluates hotels and resorts against more than 100 criteria across five wellness pillars. The seal identifies properties that meet its certification standards.

Wellness Hotel Guide helps you explore those properties alongside other wellness stays. WITT provides the certification; WHG provides the information and tools to help you find a stay that fits.

WITT’s criteria sit within its Core Wellness Standards for Hotels™. WHG inclusion and WTA membership do not, by themselves, mean that a property is WITT Certified.

WTA: Wellness Tourism Association

An industry association serving the wellness-travel community. WTA members may appear in this guide. Association membership is distinct from WHG inclusion and WITT certification.

Inclusion and certification

The guide includes WITT-certified stays and other wellness properties. The seal identifies certification; inclusion gives you a place to explore. A full profile provides more information than a stay summary, but its length does not indicate a higher level of certification. This preview is being reviewed as the guide develops.

How we research

Property information comes from hotel materials, published sources, and WITT assessment information where available. These sources support different kinds of detail:

  • Property-confirmed information — a detail provided, reviewed, or confirmed by the hotel or resort itself.
  • Guide-researched information — a detail drawn from published sources for the guide.

Assessment and review dates appear where supporting records are available. A WITT assessment is distinct from a WHG editorial review or site visit. Programs, access, and dining options can change; check current details with the hotel before making travel plans.

How matching works

Choose your wellness interests and a region, then refine by country, state, province, city, golf, or yoga. Each result must document every selected wellness interest and activity. WITT Certified™ stays appear first, with relevance used within each group. Check current offerings and practical requirements with the hotel before booking.

Every browse sort shows eligible WITT-certified properties first. Your chosen sort applies within each group. A search can return few stays or none; choose to broaden it when you want more options. Pages for individual wellness dimensions show stays with relevant information documented in the guide.
