The Vessyl

The Vessyl is a 55-acre rainforest retreat near Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica, where wellness is built around nature, ancestral traditions, and sensory experiences. Its open-air wellness lounge includes a sauna, cold plunge, massage spaces, an infinity pool, and a heated pool, with yoga, breathwork, meditation, and temazcal ceremonies among its offerings. Rainforest trails, birdwatching, and horse-based experiences connect guests with the surrounding ecosystem, while group activities incorporate music, movement, and local artists.

The property’s single open-air restaurant serves seasonal cuisine, with approximately 70% of ingredients sourced locally. Its low-waste approach includes composting, refillable amenities, and the elimination of single-use plastics. Water is sourced from the mountain and filtered onsite, while electric carts reduce emissions around the grounds. Most employees live within walking distance, supporting local employment. Community programs and broader regenerative initiatives remain in development, as does the planned integration of natural hot springs.
